I was lucky to visit twice, to enjoy the souks in Marrakesh and get lost in the streets of Fez - and the second time slept in the desert and I watched the sun rise slowly over the sand dunes, the sun's rays spreading out, hitting the dunes and turning the sand a bright, deep golden color. Honestly it was one of the most beautiful things I've seen. And the best part was that I shared it with my sisters :)
Alright let's get to awesome Moroccan food -
Breakfasts Moroccan crepe/fried bread with either honey or jam, maybe cheese, and olives (lots of olives) and an egg. Also let's not forget a coffee or mint tea, a staple in Morocco. If you go there, always take someone's offer of tea and sit down and make a friend.
This a chicken Pastilla, pastry dough filled with chicken and almond and sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Surprising combination and so good!
Ahh Tagines - lamb with prunes above, veggie couscous below.
couscous and buttery soft veggies
Here's to lots of travel dreams and better yet, of real travel experiences in the future!
